Yashica Electro 35 GS – Need Help!

Ok so I go this Yashica Electro 35 GS because I love 35mm rangefinders. I got it pretty cheap but I can’t seem to get the meter to work. Apparently they don’t make the batteries needed for this camera anymore. If anyone has any suggestions or advice please let me know!

Also I’ve tried using a PX28A 6v battery with a spring, but it doesn’t seem to work either.

New Comics 3/18/10

Wow, some great comics came out yesterday!

Siege #3 doesn’t disappoint but I still don’t know what the hell the Sentry actually is… Someone told me he’s like GOD (in all caps man) or something? I don’t know. The Norman Osborn reveal at the end was amazing, and kinda creepy?

Also great one shot Rhino story in Amazing Spider-man. Kelly tells some of the best current Spider-man stories!

Apparently Batman #697 was pretty rad, but I haven’t had time to read it yet. Who is the Black Mask?! Hell I don’t know.

Still getting the format for the blog down so I’m figuring it out.

Until then latr!

Gorillaz – Plastic Beach

Just got the new Gorillaz album, I was really skeptical at frst when I heard the samples, but so far it’s been really good! I’ll put up a more of my thoughts on it or something later after I’ve listen to the whole album.

Btw, I love the album cover!

Tron Legacy

Wow, the new Tron trailer came out the same time as the Iron Man 2 trailer did! And this trailer is sweeeeet. Even CG young Jeff Bridges is awesome. I don’t know much about the new main character or the actor, Garrett Hedlund, but the movie just looks amazing. And Olivia Wilde makes one hot computer program :). Just hope the story is as good as the CG.

Here’s the trailer:

What do you guys think? Will it live up to the first Tron?

Here’s the trailer for the original movie to compare:

Honda Fit on Yahoo’s Top Ten!

The Honda Fit makes it on Yahoo’s
“Top 10 Most Noteworthy Vehicles of the Decade”
at #6!

Here’s the link: here

But to the important part on why:

The Honda Fit arrived (for the 2007 model year) as gas prices were steadily climbing toward the $4-per-gallon-mark. Unlike its competitors, the Fit didn’t ask you to sacrifice space, practicality or driving pleasure. It delivered on all these counts, and proved that the new frontier of car design is within the cabin. Because of its folding “magic seats,” this tall hatchback swallowed surfboards and bikes with ease, yet still shoe-horned into small parking spaces. With a five-speed manual transmission, the 109-horsepower four-cylinder V-TEC felt punchy; the car’s superb handling was an unexpected bonus. With Honda’s flair for feng shui and near-40 mpg highway fuel economy, the Fit out-distanced all challengers without breaking a sweat. (Yahoo! 2010)

The Fit is GO baby!

Iron Man 2 Trailer 2

Man-o-man I am so excited about the new Iron Man movie, and this trailer can’t get me any more pumped!

Iron Man 2 comes out on May 7!

Casting-wise, I’m only concerned about Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow. I mean not that I have anything against her, to me she’s still fit as hell. And she looks great as Black Widow, but I’ve seen her other movies and saw what roles worked and didn’t seem to work for her and I just don’t know if this will. Of course we don’t even know if she’ll have an accent or not! I guess time will tell.

What do you think?

First Post! + The Holga

Whooo First post!

Hi everybody, my name is Anthony and this is my blog called “Cameras, Cars, and Comics” which can be found at LiveByTheCs.wordpress.com.

To summarize, this blog will be a place where I can talk about my three loves in life: cameras, cars, and comics.
I’m a photo major in college and I love to experiment with different cameras, films, and other equipment. I will often post photos I’ve taken etc. At the moment It’s kind of a hobby so don’t expect pro quality!

My other love is my car. I drive an ’08 Honda Fit. I knew I knew I wasn’t going for speed so i went for style instead. I’ll post photos of my car and other cars from meets or car shows. I’ll also talk about what I’ve done to my car.

Lastly is my love for comics. I’m kind of a geek, so you’ll hear me rant a lot about comic books, movies, and even anime and manga.

Now about the Holga.

I’ve been into lo-fi and lomography these last few months and have tried many cameras like the Diana, Diana Mini, BlackBird Fly, etc. but this is my first experience with the Holga.

If you don’t know about lomography or the holga, I suggest you go to this website: http://www.squarefrog.co.uk/
A great place to learn about all kinds of stuff from the Holga to setting up your own darkroom (kind of).

So far the Holga has been pretty interesting. I don’t like not using a meter, but being limited is kind of the point I guess. Using 120 film is a new thing to me also.
So far I’ve been getting some cool effects and I am trying different films with it.

Here are some test shots so far:
Used Fuji Pro 400H.

The RSX is my friend’s car.

Next I am gonna talk about either Wek Fest or my car.
